What Sermorelin is
Sermorelin reproduces the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone releasing hormone, which is the shortest fragment that retains the full activity of the parent hormone. Everything beyond residue 29 can be removed without losing function, which is why the analogue exists at that length rather than the native 44.

Common questions
How does sermorelin differ from tesamorelin?
Both are GHRH analogues. Tesamorelin carries an N terminal modification that resists enzymatic breakdown; sermorelin is the unmodified 1-29 fragment.
Why 29 amino acids and not the full 44?
Residues beyond 29 are not required for activity at the GHRH receptor, so the shorter sequence is simpler to synthesise with no loss of function.
