Glutathione Pen

The body's principal intracellular antioxidant, at 1500 mg in a pen.

Reference only. This page covers what the compound is, how it is presented and how it is handled. It does not give dosing protocols or administration schedules, and it is not medical advice.

What Glutathione is

Glutathione is a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine, and the most abundant antioxidant inside human cells. It is endogenous rather than synthetic. Its reduced and oxidised forms are chemically distinct, and the ratio between them is a standard measure of cellular oxidative state.

How the pen is supplied

Solution in a sealed 3 ml pen graduated in 300 dial units. At 1500 mg the content is far higher than the peptides around it, because the molecule is small and active at much larger masses.

Common questions

Why is the content so much higher than other pens?

Glutathione is a small molecule active at far larger masses than the signalling peptides in the range. 1500 mg here is not comparable to 1500 mg of a peptide.

How does it compare with NAC?

NAC supplies cysteine, the rate limiting precursor. This supplies the assembled tripeptide.
